Lak Door
Palestine is bigger than its factions… and its future is the responsibility of all its people.
The Palestinian people are living through one of the most dangerous phases of their modern history.
Gaza is exhausted by war and destruction; the West Bank and Jerusalem face settlement, annexation and the erosion of the land; division has weakened our cause and our institutions; public trust in politics — and in its power to change lived reality — has receded; and a whole generation of young people looks at the future with anxiety, anger and a loss of hope.
Yet Palestine, for all that has befallen it, has not lost the most important source of its strength: its people.
This is where “Lak Door” begins.
An open Palestinian space for every Palestinian, at home and in the diaspora, to take part in setting our national and social priorities, naming our problems, proposing solutions, and helping to shape the path to the future.
We are not adding another slogan to a crowded field, nor claiming that any party, faction or leadership holds the answers alone.
We honour the history of the Palestinian national movement and the sacrifices of its generations. We respect the historic role of the Palestine Liberation Organization. We know that Fatah, Hamas and the other forces and factions are part of our people’s history and present.
But Palestine is bigger than its factions… and its future is the responsibility of all its people.
The time has come to move from the question “who defeats whom?” to the question that matters: how does Palestine prevail?
These questions do not belong to politicians alone.
They belong to you as well.
That is why “Lak Door” was created.
Not to ask you to endorse a ready-made programme, but to take part in making it.
We place our initial vision before you, and open it to discussion, revision and development.
Tell us what you agree with, what you disagree with, and what is missing.
Set your priorities.
Propose what you believe is possible.
Put your expertise and knowledge in the service of your people.
And disagree with us if you wish: real participation does not mean we must agree — it means every Palestinian has the right to be heard and to take part.
We want to move from politics that speaks in people’s name to politics that listens to them and works with them; from programmes written in offices to priorities people help to write; from promises to commitment and accountability.
We will not promise the impossible, and we will not claim we hold the solutions alone.
But we believe that leaving the present Palestinian condition will not be made by one person, will not be monopolised by a faction, and will not arrive ready-made from outside.
It is made by a people who know what they want, institutions that respect their will, and leadership that works with them and answers to them.
Therefore:
We don’t just want your vote… we want your role.
Read. Take part. Propose. Debate. And watch what happens to your opinion and your contribution.
Because Palestine is yours.
And you have a role.
